Biography
Elizabeth's research focuses on international law and international relations and the governance of transnational corporations. She completed her PhD in Government at Cornell University, where her dissertation examined the criminalization of bribery in international business. It used legal research, archival analysis, and semi-structured interviews to examine and compare the operation of these laws in advanced industrial economies. Prior to her doctoral studies, she practiced law for several years, specializing in commercial litigation and internal investigations. She is admitted to practice in New York (2008) and Ontario (2012).
Research Interests
Elizabeth's research interests include international law, international relations, the governance of global markets and transnational business, anti-corruption, Canadian politics, and comparative law. She has published in the UBC Law Review and is currently working on a book manuscript that examines the evolution of international law to combat bribery in business. Before joining the department, she was a Postdoctoral Associate and Lecturer in Ethics, Politics and Economics at Yale University.
