S.T.O.P. Program - Security Tracking of Office Property

S.T.O.P. THEFT - Get protection that works!

S.T.O.P. THEFT is an anti-theft and recovery program designed for electronic equipment such as laptops. Special identification plates installed on your computer deter thieves and make it easier to recover the computer if it's lost or stolen. Furthermore, if someone removes the plate, a chemically bonded tattoos stating “Stolen property" is left on the computer, making it much more challenging to resell. S.T.O.P. THEFT is used mostly for computers and laptops, but can also be installed on other electronic devices such as televisions, LCD projectors, iPods, and digital cameras (smaller plates are available).

For only $20.00, you can register for the program and have the plate installed on your property. U of T Scarborough Campus Police will enter the plate identification number in a database hosted on a secure Web site by S.T.O.P.-Security Tracking of Office Property - the company that runs the S.T.O.P. THEFT program. UTSC Police gives you a copy of all the information you need on your registered item, and you simply keep the info in a secure location.

Drop by the Campus Police Office at SW 304 during business hours Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The S.T.O.P. Plates are also available at the UTSC Book Store.
