VERTÉRE is an inventory management system that is used in universities across Canada (as part of the Higher Education Cooperative for Hazardous Materials and Equipment Tracking consortium) to monitor chemical and biological inventories. All campuses at the University of Toronto are required to maintain an up-to-date inventory of all chemicals on site (as mandated by the Office of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation). Implementation began at UTSC in February 2018, and all chemicals in ESCB are expected to be inputted into Vertere by April 31st, 2019.
Advantages of using Vertere: Time efficient inventory checks, accurate physical inventory reconciliation, quick access to SDS sheets, improved environmental health and safety regulatory compliance and response in the event of emergencies
