Dr. Michael Souza (e-mail) | Associate Professor, Teaching Stream
Dr. Souza earned his B.A. in Psychology (Highest Honours) in 2005 and his M.A. in Psychology in 2007 from the University of California, Davis. He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology by conducting cog neuro research on memory and executive functions at the University of California, Berkeley (2010). His teaching interests include higher-order cognitive functions, and how cognitive abilities can become altered or compromised due to injury, psychological illness, and atypical neurodevelopment. He is also interested in developing and promoting ways to improve the university experience for students, as to better prepare them for their “next step.” He joined UTSC Psychology after being at UBC for six years.
