The Global Environmental Change Lab is based in the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences, and the University of Toronto Scarborough. Our group focuses on the causes and consequences of variability in plant traits, and its linkages with key ecosystem processes including carbon sequestration, nutrient cycling, and plant responses to climate change. We also explore how plant diversity has changed over the past decades, and what this means for the ecology of agricultural systems.

Our work is divided into three main areas:

♣ Tree Functional Traits and Forest Ecosystem Processes

ψ Crop Functional Traits and Agroecosystem Processes

∇ Anthropogenic Changes in Plant Diversity
