What does it mean to be a research participant?

A STEPP Lab research participant is someone who voluntarily participates in human subject research after providing informed consent. The research projects conducted at the STEPP Lab vary in methodology, but this may involve completing a battery of questionnaires, an in-person or virtual task, or semi-structured interviews. In this role, the person’s contribution is anonymous and they are generally compensated for contributing their data.
