The University of Toronto Scarborough stays connected to the community by providing suppport to community initiatives/events. Below are a few upcoming or recent event/initiatives that we have supported in partnership with the community.

Immigrant Employment T.O. Day

Immigrant Employment T.O. Day will feature a series of the Immigrant Café Meet ups organized in partnership with New Horizons Media. Topics will address different areas in entrepreneurship. Sessions will include a workshop, an expert led panel and speed networking tables for participants to connect personally with the experts.

Literacy Now- Kingston Gallow-Orton Park Literacy Improvement Collective (KLIC)

A research project that highlights challenges and opportunites to improve literacy in the Kingston Gallow-Orton Park community

Scarborough Food Truck Festival

The Scarborough Food Truck Festival brings together local vendor and the community to raise funds to support services and programs of the Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough.

TDSB  Talks (LN 15 TDSB Talks)

TEDX style conference invites elementary school students from across Scarborough give short presentations on topics of choices to fellow students, parent and staff from each participating school. Judges from the local community select one winner from the junior and intermediate divisions.

TDSB Walk of Excellence

Annually celebrates students success transitioning from high school to post-secondary.Ceremonial celebrations begin at a local high school then followed by a walk to campus and closing reception.
