Enforcement

Toronto Police Service Parking Enforcement Officers carry out routine patrols of all parking areas of the University of Toronto Scarborough campus. Parking Enforcement Officers are employed by the City of Toronto Police Service's Parking Enforcement Unit and are authorized to issue City of Toronto Parking Infraction Notices. University of Toronto Scarborough Campus Safety Special Constables are similarly authorized to issue City of Toronto Parking Infraction Notices. Vehicles not displaying either a valid permit or daily pay-and-display receipt may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense.

  1. Parking Infraction Notices are issued in accordance with City of Toronto bylaw regulations.

  2. Notes of explanation left in a vehicle will not be accepted in lieu of a permit/receipt, and vehicles will be subject to parking enforcement.

  3. Vehicles that are parked in violation of these Parking Regulations may be ticketed and/or towed and impounded by a commercial towing company, at the owner’s expense. Campers, trailers, boats, etc. parked in any parking lot without permission from the Parking Office will be ticketed and/or towed.

Infraction Notices

Parking violation tickets issued on University of Toronto Scarborough property are City of Toronto Parking Infraction Notices. These Infractions will not affect your academic record, but can affect your licensing if not paid within the specified time frame.

  1. Parking Infraction Notices ("parking tickets") are issued by the Toronto Police Service’s Parking Enforcement Unit and University of Toronto Scarborough's Campus Safety Special Constables.

  2. Infractions cannot be "reversed" or "removed" by Campus Safety or employees of Parking Services.

  3. Procedures for paying infractions or requesting court dates are listed on the back of each ticket.

  4. Parking Services will not issue documentation regarding proof of payment or any other supporting information.

Recovery of Towed Vehicles

  1. Impounded vehicles may be recovered by calling Abram's Towing at 416-636-7006. They are located at: 124 LePage Court, North York, ON,  M3J 1Z9.

Penalty for Violation

  1. Any vehicle parked in an unauthorized area, fire route, or in a parking lot without a pay-and-display receipt, will receive the appropriate Parking Infraction Notice, and may be towed away at the owner’s expense.

  2. Any person found in possession of a forged or stolen parking permit or persons abusing the parking system may be subject to University of Toronto Scarborough sanctions; may be charged criminally; may be denied future parking privileges; and may be required to make monetary restitution.
