About Us

Since its inception in 2015, MCG has worked with a variety of businesses from start-ups to corporates in order to create relevant short-term and long-term marketing, data, and financial strategy-based solutions. MCG has worked with a wide range of clients from different sectors. Aside from working with clients, MCG has also hosted case competitions with BCG and created mentorship programs with consultants from Monitor Deloitte, P&G, EY, BCG to create and cultivate a genuine interest in consulting on the University of Toronto campus.

MCG provides consulting services across 5 Practice Areas (Financial Analysis and Modelling, Industry Research, Targeted Sales and Marketing, Market Entry and Expansion, Strategy decisions and resolve technology challenges), 4 Annual Clients (VAS Associates, Cassel Brock & Blackwell LLP, Febbit, and Norm Cosmetics), and 6 years of experience.

 

Vision

The MCG (Management Consulting Group) at the University of Toronto Scarborough is the premier consulting student organization on campus. MCG focuses on helping students get real consulting experience while enhancing recruiting opportunities and skills. Students will have the opportunity to assist with consulting projects within organizations of different sizes and industries. MCG continuously focuses on building mutually beneficial relationships between consulting alumni and BBA students. Our engagements are filled by teams of highly talented student consultants receiving practical industry experience and guidance from our advisors. MCG leverages talent and resources to organize events and support BBA students. 

 

Core Objectives

MCG strives to add value for both clients and students by:

  1. Solving their toughest issues and helping them make a lasting impact in the community 

  2. Recruiting the brightest and most diverse talent from campus and providing these students with valuable hands-on consulting experience; participating in all stages of the consulting process, from strategy analysis and formulation to presentation and implementation. 

  3. Enriching the student community through various educational events and workshops. 

  4. Helping equip members with the necessary knowledge and tools needed to successfully launch a career in consulting.

Rohan Chadha, Managing Partner

Rohan is a third-year BBA student specializing in Quantitative Finance and Statistics at the University of Toronto. Previously, Rohan had worked a semester at Ernst & Young in their Financial Service Risk Management team. Being highly involved on campus, Rohan has served as a Teaching Assistant, Student Ambassador, and Management Club Executive. He is passionate about the applications of sustainable technologies and their impact on society. When not at work, Rohan enjoys golfing, basketball and supporting McLaren in Formula One.

Julio Garza Lopez, Managing Partner

Julio is a fourth-year double degree student (BBA & HBSc) specializing in Quantitative Finance and Statistics. He currently works at Microsoft as a Business Analyst Intern in Finance. Previously, Julio completed two co-op work terms at Apotex as the coordinator of analytics and reporting. He has participated in multiple projects involving student start-ups and financial audits. Outside of MCG, he enjoys hiking and traveling.

Emma Huang, Senior Partner, Marketing Strategy

Emma is a fourth-year BBA student specializing in Management and Finance. She currently works at Roland Berger as a Consultant Assistant. Emma joined MCG to gain real life experience of consulting. Outside of work, she loves playing ultimate frisbee and editing vlogs.

Ahmedullah Shah, Senior Partner, Marketing Strategy

Ahmed is a third-year BBA student specializing in Strategic Management with a minor in Psychology. He currently works at IBM as a solutions strategy intern on the Cloud Ecosystem team. His experience extends from early startup success, along with being in sales and analytics-based roles. Ahmed joined MCG to create a meaningful impact through their consulting practice and exposure to the consulting industry. He is passionate about cognitive technologies and their impact on society from a sociological and anthropological lens. He is an avid soccer player and fan who bleeds red for Manchester United and is a competitive basketball player.

Khushi Mansukhani, Consultant , Marketing Strategy

Khushi is a third year BBA student specializing in Management and International Business. She currently works at Johnson & Johnson as a Business Information Technology Analyst and has past experience in data analytics. Khushi joined MCG to fuel her passion for technical innovation in the marketing space and to gain more experience in a client-facing role. In her free time, she loves to listen to podcasts and curate playlists on Spotify!

Sooraj Ruparelia, Senior Partner, Financial Strategy

Sooraj is a third-year BBA student specializing in Finance. He is currently interning as an analyst at a LMM private equity firm. The opportunity to work on real businesses with a talented team is what attracted Sooraj to MCG. Outside of work, he loves hitting the gym and watching Formula 1.

Safwan Patel, Consultant , Financial Strategy

Safwan is a third-year BBA student specializing in Management and Finance. He has experience as a Business Appeals Intern at the Ministry of Ontario. Safwan joined MCG to have the best of both worlds, study finance but also provide advice and expertise to clients to help improve their organizations. He is also a big sports fan; Go Raptors!

Alison is a third year BBA student specialising in Management and International Business. She just completed her co-op term as a Financial Services Advisory Intern at KPMG Hong Kong. Alison joined MCG as she is interested in pursuing a career in consulting, it would be a great opportunity for her to gain hands-on experience and learn from the talented team. During her free time, she likes to bake, book and practice copperplate calligraphy.

Revant Malani, Consultant , Financial Strategy

Revant is a third-year BBA student specialising in Management and Finance. He has previously worked with Unilever as a marketing intern and Seraphics Management as an analyst. Revant joined MCG since he is interested in getting a hands on experience before he goes on to explore a career in the field of consulting. In his free time, you will always find him analysing the charts of commodities, stocks & crypto and playing all types of sports.

Harry Geng, Senior Partner, IT & Data Analytics

Harry is a fourth-year HBSc student specializing in Computer Science. He is currently working as a Back-End developer at IBM Toronto. Harry has taken the lead in creating websites and mobile applications. His previous projects include FoodFindr, an app that matches users to restaurants, and Shop Circuit, an add-on that helps users find the optimal shopping routes. Outside of school, Harry enjoys hanging out with his friends,  tutoring students on programming languages and, walking in nature.

Sharon Xiao, Consultant, IT & Data Analytics

Sharon is a third-year BBA student specializing in Management and Information Technology. She recently completed a co-op work term at CaseWare International Inc. as a UX Designer. Sharon joined MCG to help solve client challenges through the use of technology and to gain hands-on experience in consulting. In her free time, she enjoys trying out new baking recipes and creating digital art.

Belka Jafarova, Consultant, IT & Data Analytics

Belka is a fourth-year BBA student specializing in Management & Finance. She completed her co-op term as a Business Analyst at the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services. Currently she is working as an RA & a TA for the Management Department at UTSC. Belka joined MCG's IT department to combine her interest in business and data analytics. During her free time, she likes drawing and reading Russian literature.

Abdulrahman Diab, Consultant, IT & Data Analytics

Abdulrahman is a fourth-year HBSc student double majoring in statistics and physics. He has a very extensive technical background and is currently employed as a robotic technician. Abdulrahman joined MCG in IT and Data Analytics to make use of his background in data analysis, web design and development, and software development. He is also exploring his interest into business and consulting. Throughout his free time, Abdulrahman enjoys watching movies and going out on walks and to play basketball.

Sumedha Sampath, VP, Public Relations

Sumedha is a fourth-year BBA student specializing in Management with a minor in Statistics. She has experience with marketing, data analytics and project management. She joined MCG to apply her social/digital media and project management skills whilst stepping into the world of consulting. In her free time, she loves watching true crime, learning about UI/UX Design and producing music.

Melody Chan, Marketing Specialist

Melody is a third-year BBA student specializing in Management and Marketing. She was a social media coordinator in Rizopia Food Products Inc. Melody joined MCG as a Marketing Specialist to demonstrate her graphic design skills and content management abilities in creating posters and visuals to maintain MCG's professional and welcoming image. She is also a huge k-pop fan and loves watching movies and dramas.

Stephanie Wong, Operations Specialist

Stephanie is a fourth-year BBA student specializing Management and Finance. She recently completed her co-op term as a Strategy and Performance Deals Advisory Intern at KPMG Hong Kong. Stephanie joined MCG because she would like to gain more experience and knowledge in consulting. She is also a sporty girl, who likes to hit the gym, go swimming, and hiking.

Ahnaf Rahman, Operations Specialist

Ahnaf is a first-year BBA student seeking a specialization in Management and IT. He is currently preparing for his first co-op work term in 2022. Ahnaf joined MCG as an Operations Specialist to showcase and enhance his project management skills. By transitioning his event management experiences from high school to MCG, Ahnaf hopes to organize a vast range of events to raise awareness about the world of consulting to the UTSC student body. During his free time, he enjoys watching football and cricket or binging his favorite sitcoms on Netflix.
