Kathleen McDowell joined the Co-op Management team in September of 2006 as Coordinator, Student Development. With a degree in Sociology and a specialization in Human Resources Management, Kathleen brings extensive experience in the job search field. After 5 years in technical recruiting, Kathleen decided to follow her passion for training and education. Working in the private and public college systems, Kathleen developed her students’ skills of job search strategies.
Continuing with her career path, Kathleen not only meets with the students one-on-one, but is also key in the development and facilitation of the Work Term Preparation Course. Assisting the students with development of their job search documents, interviewing skills and transition into successful work placements, Kathleen finds this experience with U of T to be extremely rewarding. Kathleen is also part of a team that is implementing the inaugural Mentors in Co-op (MiC) program, a very exciting endeavour!
Kathleen’s friendly and approachable demeanor has been noted and much appreciated by the students.
