A counsellor may suggest that group therapy is the best option to address your current concerns.
Group therapy sessions at the Health & Wellness Centre consist of 6-12 individuals and 1-2 trained professionals. Through interactive discussions, issues are explored based on the group’s needs and new skills are discussed and practiced. A safe environment where trust, honesty, and improved communication can thrive is continually promoted at each group session. All of the information shared during a group session is confidential.
Group therapy can be an extremely effective intervention to help manage your distress. You may also decide on your own that you would like to attend group therapy.
How to Attend Group Therapy
Review the group therapy schedule. Groups designated as DROP IN can be attended by any student, even if you are currently suspended, on a work term, or taking a semester off. Simply show up when you can! For those groups that are designated as WEEKLY Groups, pre-registration is required.
