Youth Critics Initiative (TACLA Film Festival)

Yellow and black "Youth Critics Initiative" header

This year, in partnership with the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival, TACLA (The Asian Canadian Living Archive) will be piloting the Youth Critics Initiative (YCI), an incubator for emerging film creatives to exercise their critical agency through reviews, interviews and reflections. Youth Critics will be given access to the full festival, attend select sessions, events and screenings, and respond through critical writing after the festival is over. These pieces will be hosted through TACLA’s online publication, Taclanese

If you are interested in volunteering for the 2019 Youth Critics Initiative, please send two writing samples and a short letter of intent to Jasmine Gui, the Education and Industry Programmer at jasmine@reelasian.com. Applications should be received by 11 October, and ideally as soon as possible.

For more information about the initiative and the TACLA festival in general, see https://tacla.ca/yci/
