Student Presenters at the 2019 Sigma Tau Delta Conference

Three students from UTSC were selected to participate in the 2019 convention for Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society. This year's convention was held from 27-30 March in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, and the conference theme was "Work in Progress."

Nicholas Marcelli presented on a panel entitled "Lyrical Responses to Religion." His paper was "Rhetorical Constructs in Blake’s 'Holy Thursday' Poems."

Aishah Cader presented on a panel about "Lyric Poetry and American Landscapes," though her paper was a Derridean reading of a Canadian poem by Kayla Czaga.

Grayson Chong presented on a creative writing panel (she read "Persephone Lost" as a contribution for "Poetic Responses to the Common Reader") as well as on postcolonial literature panel, with the paper "How to Compose Redemption Songs: Caliban and the Caribbean"

Congratulations to all three!
