Part of our JHI Alumni Research Lecture Series. In this presentation, Professor Marlene Goldman describes her forthcoming book entitled Performing Shame and her short films including her latest film, Mani Pedi about a professional boxer who sustains a brain injury and finds himself working in his sister’s nail salon. A specialist in Canadian literature and health studies, Goldman’s work explores the workings of shame, stigma and empathy.
