The Best Essay Prize went to Diana Demian for "Disordered Worlds and Disorderly Women in Elizabeth Cary's The Tragedy of Mariam and The History of the Life, Reign, and Death of Edward II"; and the prize for Best Essay on Canadian Literature went to Marc-André Durocher for "Tackling Dehumanization in the Name of Art, Science, and Capitalism in Daniel Tysdal's Theremenist Sing the Body Plastic." (The book prizes were provided by Broadview Press)
