Four CFL faculty awarded tri-council funding (NSERC, SSHRC)

The Centre for French and Linguistics is proud to announce that four of our faculty members have been awarded tri-council research funding for 2017-2022. Two faculty were awarded NSERC Discovery Grants and two faculty were awarded SSHRC Insight Grants.

Blair Armstrong was awarded an NSERC Discovery Grant for his project “Advancing Neural Network Models of Language Processing”.

Sébastien Drouin was awarded a SSHRC Insight Grant for his project “Correspondances de journalistes II. Circulation du livre et de l'information littéraire dans l'Europe des premières Lumières”.

Rena Helms-Park was awarded a SSHRC Insight Grant for her joint project with Mihaela Pirvulescu (UTM) on Childhood Trilingualism in Canada. 

Philip Monahan was awarded an NSERC Discovery Grant for his project “Predicting Speech: Cortical Oscillations and Dynamics”.
