6th Scarborough Undergraduate Linguistics Conference (SULC)

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The CFL and LSA are proud to bring you the 6th annual Scarborough Undergraduate Linguistics Conference (SULC). SULC is a great opportunity for undergraduate students to engage with their peers and present findings from their current research projects.

The 6th annual SULC will be taking place on Friday, March 1st, 2019 at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Further details regarding the exact times, locations, and keynote speaker will be released at a later date.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

We are currently accepting abstracts for the upcoming conference.

ABSTRACT REQUIREMENTS

One (1) page abstract (300 words max.) per research project*. We accept submissions relating to any linguistics subfield, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, computational linguistics, historical linguistics, language acquisition, language variation, multilingualism, comparative analysis, etc.

*Maximum of one (1) sole author and one (1) co-authored project per person. We accept both in-progress and completed research.

PRIZES

  • Cash prizes for Top 3 presentations.
  • Certificate awards for each participating student researcher.

DETAILS AND DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS

  • Must be sent in via E-MAIL as attachments in MS Word or PDF format to linguisticsclub.utsc@gmail.com by 11:59 PM, January 20th, 2019.
  • Please include the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the researchers in your e-mail.
