Sana Najafi in Kenya

Sana Najafi

Hujambo! Jina langu ni Sana Najafi. I will be going to Nairobi, Kenya for an eight month internship with the Aga Khan University. I will be working as a Communications Intern - Education with the Networks of Teaching and Learning (TL) and Quality Assurance and Improvement (QAI).

My role will include supporting website development, faculty activities and research. I am broadly interested in researching the knowledge gap between the Global North and Global South, and how this impacts academia. I am excited to engage in opportunities of leadership and innovation throughout my placement, practicing critical thinking skills within teaching and learning spaces at the university. I am also excited to learn from mentors, supervisors, and co-workers during this internship, while creating friendships and experiencing new cultures. Furthermore, this placement will allow me to apply my studies into action at an international institution, which values sustainability, compassion and quality scholarship.

I am thankful to be a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship, which has made this internship possible. Check out https://sananajafi.home.blog to keep up to date with my journeys!
