Rasa in Ghana

Rasa

Hey I’m Rasa, and I’m a fourth year International Development specialist at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. I crave adventure and the opportunity to visit new places or delve into other cultures, whether it’s travelling to foreign countries or trying that new Mexican-Korean fusion restaurant around the corner, I’m always up to trying something new.

I have been fortunate enough to win the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship, and along with the scholarship I’ve been accepted for the position of Communications and Business Support Officer with TRIAS Ghana in Bolgatanga, in partnership with the Uniterra program run by WUSC. My position would entail me evaluating and refining development projects for local farmers and entrepreneurs partnered with TRIAS Ghana, as well as capturing the success of these development projects.

This opportunity is more than I could have ever dreamt of, and I’m excited to be thrown into a world so different from my own. I’ve always wanted to take my passion for development and the empowerment of marginalized communities abroad, and now I’m actually doing it! I hope this internship will be the first of many development related placements abroad. I can’t wait to see what Bolgatanga has in store for me.
