Christiana Agustin in Thailand

Christiana Agustin

Hello! สวัสดี! My name is Christiana Agustin. I am currently pursuing a degree in International Development Studies, and Environmental Science. When I’m not studying, I’m either running, spending time with my family, or keeping up with Canadian politics.

In the fall of 2018, I will begin the experience of a lifetime. I will be moving to Bangkok, Thailand to work at RECOFT - The Center for People and Forests. At this organization, I will assume the role as a Monitoring and Evaluation Intern.

On placement, I hope to stand with RECOFT and the purpose it stands for, which is: “to enhance capacities for stronger rights, improved governance and fairer benefits for local people in sustainable forest landscapes in the Asia-Pacific region.” Through this experience, I aspire to refine my professional and life skills. I am also excited to immerse myself in Thai culture, which includes eating Pad Thai, traveling to the Phi Phi Islands, and learning about Thai history at the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum. Finally, after spending 3 years studying International Development, I am thrilled to put the knowledge I have attained into practice.

This wonderful opportunity is funded by the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship program!
