Zohreh Shahbazi
Dr. Zohreh Shahbazi is a Professor, Teaching Stream, in the Department of Computer & Mathematical Sciences and the Centre for Teaching & Learning at the University of Toronto Scarborough. She obtained her PhD in pure mathematics from the University of Toronto in 2004 and joined the University of Toronto Scarborough as a faculty member in 2007.
Dr. Shahbazi has actively participated in numerous initiatives with the Centre for Teaching & Learning for many years. Since 2007, she has served as the Coordinator of the Math & Stats Support, which offers collaborative learning spaces for students to enhance their understanding and proficiency in various mathematics and statistics subjects. Her primary objective is to help students improve their efficiency and build a positive relationship with these subjects.
In addition, Dr. Shahbazi serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Math In Action and U(t)-Mathazine, two platforms dedicated to disseminating mathematical research.
Dr. Shahbazi has received several awards and grants in recognition of her contributions to academic activities. She demonstrates a strong dedication to pedagogical innovation in the mathematical sciences and beyond, as well as a commitment to student engagement and support. As a teaching stream faculty member, she remains up-to-date with advancements in teaching and learning methodologies.
