TPASC Temporary Closure

This summer will be a very exciting time, for UTSC and the broader community, as Toronto prepares to host the 2015 Summer Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. The Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC), the new home of Athletics and Recreation on Campus, will be the host venue for a number of competitive events including, swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, fencing, and sitting volleyball. In addition to the events hosted in TPASC, modern pentathlon will be displayed on our new playfields, adjacent to TPASC, and wheelchair tennis on our new 8-court facility, set in UTSC’s rich Valley space.
In order to accommodate the Games, TPASC will be temporarily closed to the public for the summer term. Despite the closure, Athletics and Recreation is committed to providing a full range of easy to access programming, offering multiple levels of entry focused on fun, sport and recreation.

Summer Camp 2015

In light of the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games and the closure of TPASC, Athletics and Recreation has partnered with UTSC Retail and Conference Services to manage this year’s camp. In the continued tradition of quality programming and youth development, we are committed to providing a wonderful experience for our campers; an experience focused on building friendships, learning new concepts, and developing skill sets, all in a fun, safe and interactive environment. This year’s camp program will feature many similar activities, and many familiar returning staff, led by Rochelle Welch, Camps and Groups Coordinator.  For more information on this year’s camp program, please contact Rochelle by phone at 416-208-5156 or by email at rwelch@utsc.utoronto.ca.  We look forward to next year, where we hope to offer an even better camp experience focused on sport, recreation, skill building and fun, managed by the Department of Athletics and Recreation.

Summer Leagues 2015

Due to the temporary closure of TPASC for the summer term, the Department of Athletics and Recreation will not be hosting any indoor summer leagues this year (including basketball and volleyball). We apologize for the interruption but look forward to future opportunities and initiatives. In the meantime, we encourage you to take part in the many campus and community events leading up the Games, as UTSC prepares to host the world.
