I Mustache If You Will Join in Movember at UTSC

It’s that time of year again! Men around campus are joining together this November to raise awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and male mental health by growing all different types of mustaches (and this doesn’t exclude the females participating too!).

UTSC Movember:
Movember was a success last year at UTSC where males and females participated in the first SCAA pub night that raised awareness and contributed funds for the Movember Foundation Canada.  Good news, SCAA is making this an annual event! We talked to President Katrina Pilatos to get the scoop…

Who is SCAA?

SCAA is the Scarborough Campus Athletic Association and they are here to “initiate, organize and promote athletic, social and recreational activities that involve the students at UTSC.” They are the student voice of athletics and recreation on campus and encourage a healthy-active life style for students through the various events they host.

What is the SCAA Movember Pub night?

The SCAA Movember Pub night will be taking place on November 20th at Rex’s Den (music by Fusion Radio). Like the previous year, proceeds of this event will be donated to Movember Foundation Canada. Last year the SCAA donated $500 and they aim to match that donation again for this year.

Katrina also points out:

“We hold this event with the purpose of bringing more awareness to Men’s health and wellness, but to also to promote UTSC spirit and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.”

So, Let’s see your ‘stache!
