Join us for these monthly interactive events where you can meet other self-identified women to workout together, have open discussions on positive body image and get educated on topics that affect women in today's society.

Body Image…What’s Your Image?  (Friday, July 15 from 5:00 - 6:30pm)

Body image is how you see yourself when you look in the mirror or when you picture yourself in your mind. It is important to remember that every body is different. In this workshop we will explore the impact body image has on self-esteem, take a look at how external factors such as social media trends shape societal beauty norms that effect how we see ourselves, and take part in activities that encourage positive and healthy self-assessment. You will learn to empower yourself and your peers through self-image. Come join us for an evening of fun activities and games to celebrate our bodies and our mind. Let’s debunk social media myths, and “trends” and focus on loving ourselves and our bodies! We will end off this seminar with a tour of the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre and an intro to gym facilities and equipment!  Participants should meet in the front foyer of the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.

 

Fight Don’t Fret – Be Confident, Be Safe  (Friday, August 5 from 5:00 - 6:30pm)

Come join us for this empowering workshop on self-defense taught by women for self-identified women.  In this introductory class, you will have an opportunity to learn the basics on how to best remove yourself from various dangerous situations by focusing on self-defense, avoiding/deescalating confrontations, striking techniques to targeted areas, pressure points and escaping various holds.  Pads will be used for striking, please come dressed in comfortable clothing.  Participants should meet in Studios 2/3.
