Description: A former chemistry teaching laboratory was repurposed to create a teaching kitchen to support the innovative Culinaria Research Centre in its delivery of hands-on student research, community involvement and teaching.

Description: The former athletics building lower gymnasium was renovated to accommodate compact book storage for the Library allowing for seldom accessed materials to be moved from the Library, while remaining easily accessible for retrieval.  The Library space made available by the relocation of books will allow for the transformation of the library to better accommodate a range of innovative workspaces, study spaces and library services.

Library Learning Commons Rendering

Following the relocation of significant Library collections to compact storage, the UTSC Library and IITS will undergo three phases of renovations to better support the UTSC academic community within a Learning Commons model.   The first phase of these renovations, that includes the addition of formal and more casual study spaces, group study rooms, gathering and support spaces is nearly complete. Phases 2 and 3 will follow immediately upon the completion of the first.
