Ways to Give

Your Support Makes a Difference at University of Toronto Scarborough

University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) is recognized for excellence in research and teaching, real world engagement through experiential learning and breadth of co-op programs.

UTSC has experienced dramatic growth as a comprehensive, research-intensive university and in the size and diversity of its student body.  We are launching exciting and distinctive programs that will give our students a head start as scholars, scientists, and global citizens.

More than ever, our alumni and friends have a pivotal role to play in helping new generations of students benefit from this distinctive campus experience. Together we can ensure that each and every student has the resources and knowledge to reach their fullest potential, setting them on the path to become leaders of tomorrow.  Your support will provide our students with the broadest opportunities for success.

You can make your donation towards a specific area that is most meaningful to you: Students, Research, Scholarships, Departments or Infrastructure. Every dollar counts.

Scholarships and Awards

Contributions toward undergraduate and graduate scholarships and bursaries enable UTSC to provide financial aid to deserving students, providing them with the broadest opportunities for success and setting them on a path to become leaders of tomorrow. Your support will enable UTSC to increase the number of scholarships available to our students who are dedicated to pursuing their dreams and reaching their fullest potential.

Annual Fund

The UTSC Annual Fund endeavors to build and maximize unrestricted support for the most immediate and urgent needs of UTSC as well as the needs that make a difference for our students. The Annual Fund ensures that we are able to meet the needs of today while building a strong foundation for the future.

Your gift this year will help UTSC:

  • Increase financial aid for students through admission, in-course and merit-based scholarships
  • Increase student support through professional development initiatives, and volunteer and mentorship programs
  • Improve research opportunities for students by contributing to fellowships, graduate scholarships and state of the art research facilities

WATCH: With funds from the UTSC Annual Fund, the Scarborough Campus Students' Union Food Centre was able to purchase much-needed refrigeration units and extra shelving, helping the 80 community members who access this food bank every week receive fresh produce and healthy food.

President's Circle

Gifts of $1,827 or more will entitle you to membership and all the benefits of University of Toronto’s President’s Circle.

Planned Giving

A planned gift is a deferred gift that enables you to leave a lasting legacy at UTSC.  Your planned gift can be structured in a variety of ways and may provide a significant tax advantage for your estate.

Planned gifts can include bequests, retirement funds, stocks and securities, gifts-in-kind, charitable remainder trusts, gifts of residual interest and life insurance.

The Office of Gift Planning staff is dedicated to finding the most efficient, personally advantageous method for each donor to make his or her gift. If you are considering a planned gift, we recommend you do so in consultation with your financial planner and/or legal counsel. Or email Samantha Barr, Senior Development Officer, who can provide assistance.

Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. The impact of your charitable gift to UTSC may be matched by your company.

Find out more about matching gifts, or use this handy search tool to see if your company is eligible. Or, request a matching gift form from your employer, complete, sign, and send it with your gift.
