
Program summary
In today’s rapidly changing world, the development of solutions to combat some of the most pressing global challenges, such as climate change, emerging diseases, hunger, and species extinction, requires an integrative approach in which expertise is drawn from distinct biological and other disciplines. The Integrative Biology program provides the student with a solid understanding in core and foundational areas of biology while also providing a breadth of knowledge to support specialized studies and focused training in a range of disciplines. Students who complete this program will be well positioned for a career in many aspects of the biological sciences or further studies at the professional or graduate level.
The Biological Sciences at UTSC offer several distinct specialized programs. Students can choose from the Specialist Programs in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Human Biology or Conservation & Biodiversity, or the Major Programs in Biology, Human Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology & Disease or Conservation & Biodiversity.

Interested in obtaining a Masters in Environmental Science (MEnvSc)? The Combined Degree Programs for UTSC Honours Bachelor of Science (HBSc) with the Master of Environmental Science (MEnvSc) offered by the Graduate Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences allow exceptional students who are registered in one of the Specialist/Specialist Co-op programs identified below to apply during Year 3 of their studies, and be considered, for admission to the MEnvSc program.
