Course Selection Supports

Your Supports

Within the Get Started program you will have access to many supports, such as:

Be sure to check out the Course Selection Module

All students attending in person or virtual programmng are required to review the Course Selction module (and Transfer Credit module for transfer students) beforehand. Within these modules you will learn about: degree requirements, resources available to help you choose your courses, how to enroll in your courses (using a student-web service called ACORN) and how to plan ahead to complete your program and degree requirements.

  • Throughout the module you will find opportunities to check your knowledge which will help you feel prepared to make informed decisions about your course selection
  • Hosted on the UofT Learning Management System called "Quercus", all students will be automatically added to the FirstYear@UTSC course (remember to login using the button the upper left corner once you are at the page)

Reach out to your First-Year Peer

In June, you will be assigned a Upper year student who is happy to hear from you. They will email you to introduce themselves and you can connect with them throughout your first year. Wondering what to ask your First-Year Peer?

  • If you need further clarification after viewing the Quercus Module or attending a Get Stared On Campus or Online session
  • If you have a question about what it is like transitioning to university
  • Have general questions about your first year at UTSC.
  • Not sure who your first your peer is? contact
