Within the Get Started program you will have access to many supports, such as:
Course Selection Modules
Transfer Credit Module (for transfer students)
Your First Year Peers
Course Selection Support (in person and online)
All students attending in person or virtual programmng are required to review the Course Selction (link to all modules to be made available in Spring) module (and Transfer Credit module for transfer students) beforehand. Within these modules you will learn about: degree requirements, resources available to help you choose your courses, how to enroll in your courses (using a student-web service called ACORN) and how to plan ahead to complete your program and degree requirements.
In June, you will be assigned a Upper year student who is happy to hear from you. They will email you to introduce themselves and you can connect with them throughout your first year. Wondering what to ask your First-Year Peer?
If you missed out on the Get Started programming events held in June or have follow-up questions after having attended a previous session, attend a drop-in to ask questions about your courses. This drop-in session will be located in the computer labs on the 4th Floor of Bladen Building where a First-Year Peer will be available to answer any questions you have about your course selection. Please note, registration is not required, a list of these drop-in course selection support sessions will be provided in the Spring.
