The Sexual Health Wellness Peers are a group of student volunteers from the Health & Wellness Centre informing UTSC about healthy relationships, sexual health and STI/HIV/AIDS.
The Sexual Health Team along side other campus organizations invite you to learn more about MOVEMBER - Men's Health Campaign. This month we'll be discussing a campaign that affects about 50% of people on campus - MEN'S HEALTH!
Regardless of race, class, or sexual orientation, men's health is commonly disregarded. The term Movember has been coined to refer to men's health overall but Movember in reality is involved with raising awareness on Prostate and Testicular cancer. Movember is a time for the MEN in our lives to take accountability and be responsible for one's health. Men around the world promote their cause by growing a mustache as our MO Bros with the support of their MO Sistas.
This November join the WPP Sexual Health Team in raising awareness about men's health. This is not limited to Prostate cancer, but rather to other common illnesses such as Testicular cancer, HPV, Gonohrrea, Clamydia and HIV/AIDS. This is not just a men's issue, it affects everyone!
We'll be at the Student Centre for the whole month of November on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12pm-4pm. We'll also be walking around and informing people around campus and finally have a workshop about HIV/AIDS by the end of the month. SO if you'd like to learn more about our initiative come by the Student Centre or check us out at the Health & Wellness Centre, located in SL270 (Student Centre - 2nd floor).
Those Mo Bros and Mo Sistas that join us and learn more about this great initiative will have a chance to win lots of great prizes so check us out! Hope to see all of you there!!!
