Workshops

To help promote safer social events, Party In The Right Spirit currently three workshops to meet the requests of UTSC student groups and associations. The three workshops are:

1. The Liability Workshop

• identify liability as it relates to alcohol, injury and hosting parties
• introduce and discuss liability concepts as exemplified in legal cases
• create an understanding of the principles of liability and why certain strategies may not be sufficient to prevent being sued
• explore prevention and risk reduction strategies for liability as related to hosting parties

2. The Impairment Workshop

• increase awareness about low risk drinking: standard drink, legal limit and binge drinking
• explore safety strategies as they relate to social events and partying

3. The Risk Taking & Communication Strategies Workshop

• provide students with the opportunity to practice effective communication strategies
• increase participants’ awareness of the factors that contribute to decision-making
• describe strategies to reduce risk-taking behaviors
