Political Science is organized around two cross-cutting thematic clusters:

  1. Globalization and Governance— Political Science recognizes that the context of politics at any level is now globalized. We think it is important to explore with students how this has influenced politics at multiple levels and created new levels of politics (transnational, global).
  2. Development and Equity—This cluster includes issues of the distribution of resources across the world, the politics of North-South interactions, and the comparative study of domestic processes of social, political and economic change in the global South. 3. Politics of Identity—On a deeply multicultural campus in a multicultural country, issues of political identity inevitably come to the fore. Of concern here are the ways issues of migration, immigration, citizenship, and democratic theory are understood in both a Canadian and global context.
