First Year Guarantee Residence Deadlines:
1) Indicate interest in residence on MyRes: March 31, 2018
2) Complete the Student Housing Portal online application, including $600 non-refundable deposit:

Residence is guaranteed for all new full-time students entering their first year of university in an undergraduate program for the first time, provided that they have indicated their interest in residence by completing the University's common residence application (MyRes) by March 31, 2018 at 11:59pm EST and have received and accepted an offer of admission from the University and have completed the residence application (including submission of deposit) by June 1, 2018 at 11:59pm EST.
How to Apply
- Step 1: Enable your JOINid
Your JOINid is your key to access the Join
U of T admissions website as well as U of T’s common residence application,
Have your U of T applicant number, and JOINid handy and visit uoft.me/enable
to get setup.
Step 2: Confirm your interest and rank your residence choices
Once you login to MyRes,
you will see a list of residences that you are eligible for. You must confirm your interest in residence and rank your residence choices. Please note that there will be a list of residences for each application that you have with the University of Toronto. It is important to rank the residences on each list. Deadline to complete in order to maintain Residence Guarantee: March 31st, 2018.
Step 3: Complete UTSC’s online residence application on the Student Housing Portal
This step is crucial in order for your application to be considered. UTSC's online residence application can be found at starportal.utoronto.ca. This step includes a photo upload and submission of the $600.00 deposit. Deadline to complete in order to maintain Residence Guarantee: June 1st, 2018.
- Completing the Student Housing Portal application includes signing the First
Year Residence Agreement (or 2018-2019 Residence Agreement - Under 16 Years of Age). Make sure to read fully and understand the terms in the Agreement
What happens next?
Residence offers are only made to applicants who receive an offer of admission to
U of T. Residence offers will be sent via email between March and May 31st for those who meet the Residence Guarantee eligibility. Offers will continue to be made after June 1st through the Fall session to students who missed the Residence Guarantee deadlines, as spaces are available. You are encouraged to login to the Student Housing Portal frequently and monitor your email to check the status of your residence application.
When you receive a residence offer, be sure to follow the instructions
provided and pay special attention to any deposits and deadlines. If you have any questions about your residence offer, contact Student Housing & Residence Life.
Students are encouraged to visit the
TCard+ website for information and instructions on purchasing optional Residence Meal Plans.
Making a roommate request & other changes to your Residence Application
- Students have until June 29, 2018 to add, delete
or modify their roommates, change room type preferences or make other modifications. Please contact Student Housing & Residence Life if you
need to know your personal UTSC Roommate ID number or have questions about making modifications to your application.
