Online Deposits
In an effort to make deposit payments convenient for all students, the Student Housing & Residence Life Office permit students to pay for their residence deposit using a VISA or Mastercard (American Express is not currently accepted). A student must be logged into his/her online application (http://res-rms-server.utsc.utoronto.ca) when submitting an online deposit.
To complete an online deposit, a student must be one of the following:
- A First Year Student Applying for residence ($400.00 Deposit, DUE DATE: June 8, 2012), OR
- An Upper Year Student who has an offer of residence for the Fall Session or is applying for the Winter Session ($400.00 Deposit, DUE DATE: May 1, 2012), OR
- A student applying for the Summer Session ($100.00 Deposit)
This is not a method of payment for a student’s residence or tuition fees. (List of method of payment for the rest of residence fees.) The initial deposit will be processed and credited to the student’s ROSI account and the deposit will offset the residence charges the student occurs. To read the cancellation policy for the Student Housing & Residence Life Office regarding deposits please refer to the residence agreement.
This payment method is secure as the transaction is handled by MiraPay, a third party authorized by VISA and Mastercard. MiraPay provides the Student Housing & Residence Life Office with payment confirmation only. The Student Housing & Residence Life Office and the University of Toronto Scarborough will not have access to your credit card information.
Why am I redirected to another site to process my order?
In order to provide you with the most secure online processing, Student Housing & Residence Life Office contracts the services of MiraPay to process credit card payments. MiraPay handles credit card security and uses industry standard 128-bit encryption security features.
What is MiraPay?
MiraPay is Eigen Development’s eCommerce Payment Gateway service that processes credit card transactions for Canadian Merchants who have an Internet Merchant account setup with Global Payments Canada Inc. MiraPay is a redirector product so Merchants do not need to add encryption to their websites. MiraPay handles the credit card security. The unique feature of MiraPay, is that when you enter your credit card information, you are not entering it on Student Housing & Residence Life Office's website; you are entering it on MiraPay’s secure site. MiraPay processes the transaction for Student Housing &Residence Life Office, produces a receipt, sends you back to Student Housing &Residence Life Office's website, and e-mails both you and Student Housing &Residence Life Office the results of the transaction.
Why does MiraPay’s website say I need to disable my pop-up blocker?
MiraPay uses pop-up windows to display the confirmation of your credit card payment. This process will not work properly with computers using software that blocks pop-up windows. Please take the time to disable your pop-up blocker or your order will be cancelled.
Is this site secure?
Yes, this site is secure. Only MiraPay has access to your credit card information.
Certified Cheque or Money Orders
If you are unable to pay by credit card please mail or deliver to the Student Housing & Residence Life Office either a certified cheque or money order, payable to the University of Toronto. Personal cheques are not accepted. If mailing a certified cheque or a money order please ensure the student’s name and student number is clearly printed on the back of the cheque to the following address:
