Requesting a Clerical Check for a UofT Scarborough Final Grade
Deadline to request:
Within 90 days of the relevant examination period. Requests will NOT be accepted after the deadline.
The Process:
Submit your request via e Service.
Your request will not be processed until payment has been received. Payment can be made online (eService) or in person at the Registrar's Office. Your request will be cancelled if payment is not received by the deadline.
- If you believe that an error has occurred in calculating your final grade, you may request a clerical check of your marks. It is not necessary to purchase a copy of the examination to request a clerical check.
- A clerical check is arithmetical only. Your exam will not be re-read (re-marked). To request re-reading of a final exam you must petition. Read the section on special consideration, petitions and appeals in the Calendar for further details on requesting this, and provide a copy of the exam (when available) with the petition.
- If you believe an error has occurred in calculating your final grade, indicate in the space provided where you think the error has occurred. If there was a final exam in the course it will be checked by the instructor to ensure that all answers have been marked and calculated correctly. All term work marks will also be checked to ensure they have been added correctly. Then the calculation of the final grade will be checked. If an error is discovered and the final grade in the course is changed, the fee will be refunded, and mailed to the address you provide in the form. Otherwise, the fee is non-refundable.
- Please note if the grade is changed, the amended grade will stand whether it is higher or lower than the original grade.
- Information concerning clerical checks can also be found in the Calendar at http://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/~registrar/calendars/calendar/Courses.html#C._Marks_and_Grades
