UTSC is dedicated to ensuring the safety of its students, staff and faculty in and around the campus. Community members are strongly encouraged to adhere to the University’s safety policies and precautions at all times.
In conjunction with Student Crime Stoppers, a partnership between the community, media and the police, the U of T community is able to anonymously assist the police in solving crimes on campus. Cash rewards are offered to students who provide information that leads to an arrest or other successful conclusions.
Students walking on campus after dark should take advantage of the WALKSAFE service run by CampusPolice. Students can call 416.287.7022 and two patrollers will escort them to their desired destination. For students who drive to campus and park in the outer parking lots, the RIDESAFE program offers a safer alternative than walking to a vehicle alone at night.
The Sexual Harassment Office receives complaints under the University's Policy & Procedures: Sexual Harassment. The policy sets out a formal resolution procedure & provides for mediation, counselling & public education. Members of the University can contact the office on an informal basis for information or assistance in resolving an issue. Students who find themselves unsure about a particular situation are encouraged to call the Office at 416.978.3908.
These services are in place to protect you as well as your peers. Do not hesitate to use them!
