ENGB02: English Literature: Historical Introduction
General Course Information:
The material on this web site is designed for the Spring term of a second-year university English course at the University of Toronto at Scarborough (Canada). This course presents a literary and cultural history of British Literature from the Middle Ages to the early twentieth century. In the Spring term, reading selections represent the works of approximately 25 authors beginning with William Blake (1757-1827) and ending with T.S. Eliot (1888-1965). The text is The Norton Anthology of English Literature II, 6th edition, accompanied by the novel Hard Times by Charles Dickens.
This is a lecture and examination course. In the Spring term 2000, the marking scheme is as follows:
Mid-term Test: 16.6% : WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2000; 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.; Rooms H214 and H216
Final Examination: 33.3% Time: TBA
