NEWS!

Prof. Kerman’s article about HIV/AIDS biosensors

with Prof. Heinz-Bernhard Kraatz was on the cover

of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Analyst in

December 2009.

Prof. Kerman is organizing the “Biomaterials and Bioanalysis” symposium together with Prof. Shana O. Kelley in the 93rd Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition. Please, submit your abstracts following the guidelines on the Conference webpage.

Intrinsic electrochemistry of nucleic acids and proteins provides a unique approach to the detection of biomolecular reactions.

Peptides related to the neurodegenerative diseases are detected using nanomaterial-modified surfaces for drug screening.

Aptamers are applied for the specific detection and inhibition of clinically important proteins.

We currently have openings for graduate students interested in biological chemistry, medicinal chemistry & bioanalytical chemistry.

We're looking for people, who are interested in learning about nanomaterial conjugation of biological molecules as well as drug development & screening skills.

There will also be many opportunities to develop new analytical techniques for nucleic acid, protein and enzyme-based biosensors.

If you are interested, please contact Dr. Kerman at
