I am
an ARC Post-doctoral fellow working with Dr.
Rob Brooks at the University of New South Wales.
My general
interests lie in mating system evolution and the concept of male quality.
More specifically, my research focuses on how competitive challenges, and
therefore selection pressures vary throughout an individual’s
lifetime, and how males can maximize their fitness in such a variable
environment.
My
research examines:
Developmental plasticity in response to demographics
How demographic variation impacts
selection
How plasticity maintains
phenotypic and genetic variation in nature
How male life history trade-offs affect
fitness
The resolution of male
contests
I use
a variety of different spider and insect species to test these questions.
