Leigha Lee Browne Theatre

Named for UTSC's inspirational drama instructor, Leigha Lee Browne, and designed by one of Canada's foremost architects, Peter J. Smith, the L.L. Browne Theatre has been a venue for public performance since 1993, when its first audience witnessed Shakespeare's The Tempest as directed by Professor Michal Schonberg. Fast forward almost twenty years and the L.L. Browne Theatre continues to produce excellence in performance, ranging from classical Indian dance, and student productions such as Dr Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog, shows such as Carol Shield's Departures and Arrivals, directed by Professor Paula Sperdakos, to lectures and master classes. It is the central hub for performance and experiential education laboratory for the Theatre and Performance Studies program.
