Council of the University of Toronto Scarborough
Council of the University of Toronto Scarborough exercises its duties and powers under the provisions of the University of Toronto Act.
The purpose of the governance structure at the University of Toronto Scarborough is to obtain effective participation of its community in decisions affecting its life, academic and otherwise. To achieve this objective, it is essential that the Chairs of Council and its Committees:
- play an active role in identifying issues, concerns, and problems that warrant their respective bodies’ attention;
- ensure that members are aware of their responsibilities and participate fully in the Committee’s work;
- maintain effective channels of communication between the College’s governing bodies; and
- ensure that Council and its committees receive all documentation in a timely manner so they may carry out their responsibilities.
