Evacuation Procedures

1.   Building Evacuation:
      a.   All building evacuations will occur when the fire alarm sounds or upon notification by the Campus Police
            Services or a member of the Emergency Response Team.

      b.   When the building fire evacuation alarm is activated during an emergency, leave by the nearest
marked exit and alert others to do the same.  Take your valuables with you and lock your work area
doors if it is safe to do so.

      c.   Assist persons who may have difficulty in exiting the building.

      d.   Never Use Elevators In Cases Of a Fire Evacuation.

      e.   Once outside, proceed to a clear area that is at least 500 feet away from the affected building.
Keep clear of fire routes, hydrant areas and walkways used for emergency vehicles and personnel.

      f.    Do not return to an evacuated building unless told to do so by the Campus Police Services or
a Fire Warden.

2.   Campus Evacuation:

      a.   Evacuation of all or part of the campus grounds will be announced the Campus Police Services
in coordination with the Emergency Response Team.

      b.   All persons (faculty, staff and students) are to evacuate the site in question immediately and relocate
to another part of the Campus grounds or an off-site area as directed.
