Group Fitness classes are FREE to all students and members of the recreation centre and do not require sign-up. All fitness levels are welcome.

Group Fitness Classes

Bollywood Boogie

Explore a variety of South Asian dance styles ranging from the intricate steps of Bollywood to the high-energy movements of Bhangra. Participants will savour the fluidity of movements.


The challenge is to gain a strong, firm healthy body. You will be led through exciting conditioning drills with a special focus on tightening the areas in the abdominals and lower back. You will use a variety of fun equipment to keep you coming back for more! *Tuesday @5:10pm class is for women only.

NEW! Circuit Combat

Your instructor will take you through timed stations challenging your ability, muscular endurance, balance, power and cardiovascular system. Experience some Mixed Martial Arts, Crossfit and athletic training tactics. Adaptive exercises for all fitness levels are incorporated.

Fitness Equipment Orientations

Our Strength Trainer staff will help familiarize you with some of our cardio and strength equipment. You will receive a workout journal and go through a full body beginner workout. Women only sessions available. Limited to 4 people; meet at the counter.
Available Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:45-7:30pm, Wednesdays & Fridays 12:15-1:00pm and Saturdays & Sundays 2:15 - 3:00pm

Monday Muscle Mix

Experience this challenging and dynamic whole body muscle conditioning class, using dumbbells, bands, tubes, exercise balls and body bars as resistance tools. If you are sick of doing the same old strength routine definitely give this class a try!

NEW! Socacise

Socacise is a creative blend of high/low impact aerobics combined with African and Caribbean dance movements. The music used is calypso, soca, zouk, reggae, salsa, dancehall and on occasion drums.


Step it Up

A steady cardio based workout with exciting step and dance combinations using a platform (aka the Step). You don't want to miss this class!

Step & Pump

Are you ready to step up to the challenge of Step & Pump? This class is a progressive cardio-conditioning workout that combines fun stepping patterns. Muscle conditioning will be added for a complete full-body workout.

Total Body Blast

This class focuses on 3 elements for a power packed, dynamic class. Come out to improve your cardiovascular system, muscular endurance and core strength. You'll leave feeling energized!

NEW! TRX Circuit

We will introduce you to suspension training using the TRX equipment in the KEY (conditioning room). This is a complete weight training system that promotes strength, core stability & balance and is suitable for participants of all fitness levels. There may be additional equipment used. This class is limited to 4 participants. Meet at the Service Counter: first-come, first-serve.

Ditch the workout! Join the party! Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique dance and fitness focused moves. It’s a “feel happy” workout that is great for both the body and the mind. It’s the ultimate Latin and International fiesta!

Zumba Toning

The same Zumba party, now with light weights to feel your muscular endurance improving. This, you have to try!
