Alumni & Friends

Executive Director's Message

Georgette Zinaty

As alumni of the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), you are part of a great tradition. We encourage you to participate with pride in the ongoing achievements of your alma mater, and to continue to be part of UTSC's fabric and history. The Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) is here to help you do that through the many programs and services we provide. Our goal is to provide added value to our graduates, opportunities for life long learning and forums for networking and engagement.  We hope you will stay in touch with us and let us know your ideas for how we can continue to make that happen.

The time we spent at UTSC creates some of the most formative, important years of our lives. It was then that we discovered just how big the world really is, and how we might fit ourselves into it. We make friendships that will last a lifetime and we take the experiences we learned and apply them to our daily lives and careers.

Working closely with the UTSC's senior leadership, our alumni, students, friends and volunteer leaders, our office leads and coordinates alumni relations and outreach, mentorship programming, educational opportunities via conferences and lecture series as well as fundraising efforts in support of our academic goals and aspirations.

We strive to better communicate with our key stakeholders and to celebrate the achievements of our alumni, faculty, students and staff. We aim to foster a greater sense of community, commitment and common purpose among our stakeholders and we will continue to engage our community through outreach efforts and regional focus.

As Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations, I encourage you to support UTSC and always stay connected with us. I ask you to join us for at least one event whether it is a lecture, panel, networking session, a social function or an alumni meeting. Please come, connect, network, celebrate, laugh, play, learn, reminisce, rejoice and grow with us.

This year we will be celebrating a significant milestone in the campus’s history – the 50th Anniversary of UTSC. With that special hallmark, we will be creating a number of platforms and opportunities for our students, alumni, friends and community to be engaged with us – so stay tuned!  As well, we are always looking for ideas on how best to enhance our offerings and opportunities for our recent and not so recent graduates.

If you have not visited recently, you will be amazed by the evolution.  I hope you will come back to school, bring your family and friends and enjoy the vibrancy and uniqueness of our wonderful campus.

Until then,

Georgette Zinaty
