The LEAD First Gen program spends the term addressing various topics that First Gen students experience, such as the transition into post-secondary studies, social opportunities, campus engagement, academic support, and various developmental opportunities. This will allow First Gen students to address a breadth of learning opportunities and kick-start their success!
The program runs for 6 weeks, from January 30 until March 15 inclusive. Students are required to attend Tuesdays or Thursdays for the duration of the program. Each section is limited to a maximum of 30 students, so register as soon as possible to secure your spot. To receive the CCR on your transcript, you will need to attend at least 4 of the 6 sessions.
This program is only open to first generation students registered in their first semester of university studies. First Generation Students are those students: whose parents or guardian(s) did not complete post-secondary education in Canada; whose parents or guardian(s) completed post-secondary education outside of Canada; whose parents or guardian(s) attended, but did not complete post-secondary education in Canada or outside of Canada; or who are considered wards of the state (Crown Ward).
