Study Permits

To study in Canada legally, you will need a study permit, and/or a temporary resident visa, though not everyone must have these documents. A study permit is also referred to as a “student visa”.

Work Permits

To study or work in Canada legally, you will need a study or work permit, and/or a temporary resident visa. 

Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)

Depending on your citizenship you need to have either a TRV or an eTA to enter Canada in addition to your study permit or post-graduation work permit (whichever applies to you).

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

Depending on your citizenship you need to have either a TRV or an eTA to enter Canada in addition to your study permit or post-graduation work permit (whichever applies to you).

Lost or Stolen Immigration Documents

If your passport and/or Study Permit has been stolen, lost or destroyed, it is important to deal with the situation and get replacements as soon as possible.

Taking Semesters Off

Students take a semester or more off from their academic studies due to family related issues, academic, financial or health reasons.
