Over 1,000 U of T Scarborough students attended Welcome Day this year.
During the first week of classes students were invited to this drop-in event that serves as an introduction for new and incoming students to learn about support services and the many ways to get involved on campus.
Welcome Day is a collaborative campus event organized by students, staff and faculty that treats students to food, prizes, games, and more importantly, an opportunity to interact with student services, campus resources, the students’ union, and departmental student associations.
An afternoon filled with food, fun and new friends featured various activities, including: clubs and services tabling, fitness demonstrations, campus tours, free barbecue and ice cream as well as a jousting inflatable, dunk tank and more.
As thousands of students arrive at UTSC from all over the world, the transition to university life is more than classes and coursework, orientation events like Welcome Day help students settle into the campus by getting to know their surroundings and meeting other students.
