Graduate Students' Association at Scarborough (GSAS)

GSAS is a student run non-profit organization working to improve the student life for all graduate students at UTSC. The purpose of GSAS is to bring graduate students from all academic departments at UTSC together and ensure all the needs of UTSC graduate students are met. Membership in GSAS is automatically granted to all graduate students who sign an affiliation form indicating they are affiliated with UTSC. GSAS organizes the interdisciplinary New Frontiers Seminar Series (NFSS) and the Graduate Student Seminar Series (GSSS). NFSS brings in top researchers from around the world to present seminars on their discipline in a manner that is approachable by a broad audience. GSSS features presentations by UTSC graduate students. These seminars are open to everyone in the campus community.

NFSS and GSSS are supported by the Office of the Vice-Principal, Research.

Let’s Talk Science (LTS)

The Let's Talk Science Partnership Program (LTSPP) is a national science outreach program run by Let’s Talk Science. They have partnership sites at universities across Canada. At the University of Toronto Scarborough, graduate and undergraduate student volunteers partner with school teachers and community groups to deliver hands-on science activities throughout the Greater Toronto Area and in rural communities throughout Ontario.

UTSC’s LTS program is supported by the Office of the Vice-Principal Research.

TEDxUTSC

TEDxUTSC is an independently organzed event and is part of the TEDx program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. It is organized by our undergraduate students who are dedicated to "ideas worth spreading" at the University of Toronto Scarborough.

TEDxUTSC is supported by the Office of the Vice-Principal Research.

LabCove

LabCove is a professional network for researchers in the natural sciences at UTSC. It is private and secure, and membership is by invitation only, reserved for the research community at the University of Toronto Scarborough.Their core mission is to connect researchers.

LabCove:

  • Allows the sharing of research ideas and protocols

  • Acts as a platform to encourage research collaborations

  • Supports research productivity by promoting communications and "tools-sharing" between researchers

LabCove is supported by the Office of the Vice-Principal, Research.

Scarborough Campus Students’ Union (SCSU)

SCSU is the official representative of all undergraduate students at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC). SCSU democratically unites, represents, and provides avenues for mutual empowerment of the diverse 10,000+ members of the undergraduate student body of UTSC. They are committed to providing effective advocacy, enriching the university experience, and addressing student needs and interests through the delivery of exemplary services.
