UTSC Faculty Research Awards

Research Excellence Faculty Scholars

  • Recognizes outstanding and innovative world class researchers whose accomplishments have made a major impact in their fields.
  • The award term duration of three years includes a stipend of $10,000 for each year to be used in support of research activities.
  • Each academic unit may nominate one faculty member per year.

Nominations are made by Chairs/Directors of UTSC's academic units.  Self-nominations are not accepted.

Nomination Deadline: Feb 1 by 5:00pm

Nominations for the University of Toronto Scarborough Research Excellence Faculty Scholars must be submitted electronically in PDF format to researchoffice@utsc.utoronto.ca.

Principal's Research Award

  • Recognizes and encourages the research activities and achievements of tenured mid to late career professorial faculty members at UTSC
  • Award value: $10,000 to be used towards the costs of the recipient's research program
  • Maximum of two nominations per academic unit

Nominations are made by Chairs/Directors of UTSC's academic units.  Self-nominations are not accepted.

Nomination Deadline: Feb 1 by 5:00pm.

Nominations for the Principal Research Award must be submitted electronically in PDF format to researchoffice@utsc.utoronto.ca

UTSC Research Recognition Award

  • Award value: $5,000 to be used towards the costs of the recipient's research program
  • Maximum of one nomination per academic unit

Nominations are made by Chairs/Directors of UTSC's academic units.  Self-nominations are not accepted.

Nomination Deadline: Feb 1 by 5:00pm.
