U of T Scarborough Patrol

The U of T Scarborough Patrol Service is composed of licensed and uniformed security guards, supplementing the UTSC Campus Police Service by providing security and safety patrols. Patrollers also conduct routine identification checks in designated study areas and provide safety escorts when requested.

Hours of Service: Safety escorts are available any time of the day or night and anytime during the year.

Escorts: Whether you are a student, faculty or staff member, or visitor at the University of Toronto Scarborough, there may be times when you don't feel completely safe walking alone. Although the U of T Scarborough campus is relatively safe, a patroller will be glad to meet you and accompany you anywhere on campus. This service is available on a 24/7/365 basis. To obtain an escort, call 416-287-7022. When reached, a licensed security guard or special constable will meet you and accompany you to your on-campus destination.

In order for a U of T Scarborough Patroller to easily identify you and document their activity, we respectfully request that you provide the dispatcher with the following information when you call requesting an escort:

  • your name
  • current location and phone number where you can be reached
  • desired destination
  • brief personal description for easy identification
  • desired pick-up time

Please note U of T Scarborough Patrol does not provide a car ride, only a foot escort, so dress for the weather.

Identification Checks: Due to the student population density and limited study space, U of T students are required to have their student cards displayed while studying on campus. All study spaces are now strictly reserved for U of T students. Signs have been posted throughout the University stating this policy. Students are asked to have their student cards visible while studying. UTSC Patrol will be conducting routine identification checks while on patrol. If you are not a student or if you do not have your student card displayed you will be asked to leave. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
