The UTSC Management Alumni Association (MAA) is an organization committed to developing a strong community within the UTSC management alumni body.

Join us in our effort to foster a stronger alumni community! We are seeking candidates to fill the following MAA positions. Applications are due JANUARY 10, 2018. See below for application details. 

Director, Marketing and Communications

  • Work with Executive team to develop the MAA marketing and communications strategy, based on vision and objectives
  • Create and edit content for a variety of sources, purposes and audiences
  • Manage social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter), working closely with the Dept. of Management as required
  • Lead promotion of events/initiatives
  • Work closely with the Manager, Social Media to design and develop materials and content in alignment with the MAA’s marketing and communications strategy
  • Previous marketing and/or graphic design experience
  • Attend Executive and committee meetings regularly
  • Time Required: approx. 8-10 hours/month

Manager, Social Media

  • Collaborate with the Director, Marketing and Communications to strengthen the MAA brand
  • Develop solid social media strategies including increasing traffic and membership across all our external platforms
  • Support the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content
  • Previous marketing and/or graphic design experience
  • Attend committee meetings regularly
  • Time Required: approx. 4-6 hours/months

Manager, Business Development

  • Plan and execute events for alumni alongside MAA Exec team; (ie: guest speaker series, networking events) based on identified needs and interests
  • Work with VP, Operations to define and implement a sensible operating model based on available resources and a thorough assessment of best practices
  • Identify and promote external networking opportunities to alumni
  • Work with the Executive team to develop and execute business development objectives based on MAA’s overall vision and strategy
  • Attend Executive and committee meetings regularly
  • Time Required: approx. 4-6 hours/month

Manager, People Strategy

  • Works closely with Director of HR to develop MAA Ambassador Program and maintain the MAA alumni directory
  • Collaborates with student clubs and the Department of Management to identify opportunities for alumni involvement
  • Supports various portfolios by helping with the promotion of MAA activities to increase alumni engagement
  • Conducts polls and surveys to collect data on alumni interest, etc.
  • Attends Executive and committee meetings regularly
  • Time required: approx. 2-4 hours/month

Manager, Finance

  • Works to develop and implement financial and governance policies for MAA
  • Assists in the preparation of the MAA annual budget and forecasting
  • Prepares financial analysis and cash flow reporting over MAA’s operations
  • Attends Executive and committee meetings regularly
  • Time required: approx. 2-4 hours/month

Class Representatives

  • Work collaboratively with fellow class representatives to identify best practices and strategies to increase alumni engagement
  • Support various portfolios by helping with the promotion of alumni activities in order to increase attendance of your class group at MAA events
  • Identify and promote external opportunities which will meet the need for our diverse alumni membership pool
  • Attend Executive and committee meetings regularly
  • Time Required: approx. 2 to 4 hours/month

Eligibility: To apply, you must have either graduated from UTSC Management (i.e., you hold a BBA, BA in Economics, or Certificate in Business), or you completed a minimum of one year of full-time study or four (4) full-course equivalents (FCEs) in Management at UTSC (including the BBA program, the BA/BSc in Economics program, or the Certificate in Business program). Current students are not eligible to apply.
